North Hidden Barn Festival Wedding | Amanda + Rob

North Hidden Barn Festival Wedding | Amanda + Rob

This pair are big into music so when they got to planning their wedding, they decided to be inspired by their favourite music festivals and have a festival wedding at the gorgeous North Hidden Barn. A gem of a venue that lends itself so well to this style of wedding. Rob’s a brit and Amanda is from the US so the whole thing was a mash up of both cultures.

They went all out on the lighting, smoke machines and confetti canons, well the groom does put on events for a living and he had a heck of a lot of fun planning this one. He also surprised the bride with concert tickets to Jack White, Britney Spears AND The Beach Boys.. I mean c’mon!!! That boy is a keeper, right?

I may not always love you but long as there are STARS ABOVE you. You never need to doubt it, I’ll make you so sure about it …

That One Time When Crown & Glory Had a Festival Wedding …

That One Time When Crown & Glory Had a Festival Wedding …

You know I’ve been in this game for quite a while now, I’ve literally been to hundreds and hundreds of weddings in every corner of the UK. But this festival style wedding will forever be one of my all time favourites. Yes the Bride and Groom (Sophie and Gareth from Crown and Glory) are my friends and it’s always super special to be the photographer for someone you know; Yes I’d actually made it to Sophie’s wonderful hen party back in the summer and yes some of my close friends were also at this wedding. But above all of that, what made this wedding truly special was the couple. Sophie and Gareth know how to throw a helluva party, that’s for sure but what you might not see in these photos is just how much effort they made to ensure that all their guests had an utterly brilliant time. Right from the moment we all gathered in this wonderful place in Deepest Darkest Wales, the good times really rolled.

When I got to my room, I found an incredible welcome package including a bespoke flower crown that perfectly matched my skirt. Later on, I looked around the room as I shot the speeches and saw a sea of gorgeous flower crowns all perfectly matched to outfits and it dawned on me that Sophie has asked me what was I wearing weeks before.. ahhhhhh! See it’s that level of kindness that made us guests feel so much warmth and love from the newlyweds. Their generosity dripped out of every corner of this wedding and I left feeling like my joy tank had been refilled. Looking at the images again reminds me of so many fun moments. Now if this wedding is looking a little familiar then that might be because it is featured in the current issue of Rock n Roll Bride Magazine. Sophie is starring on the cover like the Goddess that she is.. well when your Maid of Honour is editor of a bridal magazine, it kind of HAD to happen, right?

a backless dress and some beat up sneaks, my discotheque Juliet TEENAGE DREAM, I felt it in my chest as she looked at me, I knew we were bound to be together …

Gildings Barn Wedding | Tom + James

Gildings Barn Wedding | Tom + James

Gildings Barn in Surrey was the venue for James and Tom’s big outdoor wedding a few weekends ago. I first met this pair when Tom was Best Gay at his friend Ellen’s Wedding up in Hackney this time last year. His speech was one of the funniest I think I’ve ever seen so I was looking forward to seeing them all again and to shooting their own wedding.

This was one of those all out country weddings with miles of bunting and flowers in jam jars. The Mums have been sewing and growing like demons and it all came together for this glorious sunshine filled day with a gorgeous outdoor personal ceremony at the heart of it. It was all very relaxed.. well until the ceilidh when everything got very active!

Forever can never be long enough for me, to feel like I’ve had long enough with you. FORGET THE WORLD now we won’t let them see but there’s one thing left to do ..

Some Of My Favourites from 2016

Some Of My Favourites from 2016

Twenty Sixteen for me has been the year of shooting Festival Weddings, London Pub Weddings, Seaside Weddings, At Home Sessions, urban engagement shoots and editorials for the fabulous Rock n Roll Bride Magazine. I’ve had an utter blast at every single one and it’s been fascinating to return to them all and pick out some of my favourite images. Being a photographer is a wonderful job, weddings are an incredible day to be involved in people’s lives and I don’t think I will ever grow tired of it. I’m so thankful to all the people that I worked with this year.

There are many things that I adore about this profession. First up, meeting and connecting with so many new people. I have many fond memories, from Nannas ruling the dance floor in the Peak District to a bridal glitter party on the confetti strewn floor of The Asylum in Peckham. I love how I get to see places that I would never visit otherwise. From getting lost with a couple from the American South in the wilds of Scotland to hiking up Brighton cliffs with New Yorkers 15 minutes from my home, it’s been ace and now I’m excited about next year …

I know where beauty lives. I’ve seen it once, I know the warm she gives. The light that you could never see, it SHINES INSIDE. You can’t take that away from me.

Standlow Farm Festival Wedding // Ness + Mugs

Standlow Farm Festival Wedding // Ness + Mugs

When Ness and Mugs booked me for their wedding at Standlow Farm in the Peak District, I had to confess that it is a part of the world I don’t know very well. But their wedding sounded very lovely and I do adore having new places to explore. They very much wanted a festival feeling to the wedding and the Farm let them take it over for the entire weekend. This is one well travelled couple and so their wedding brought in all kinds of elements from all over the world, including an interlude with an African Dance Class that got all the guests re-energised after dinner.

Ness and Mugs are incredibly warm people and when I spent time with their families and friends I could see that this was something that ran throughout everything that they do. The wedding was a wonderful gathering of all their favourite people and they had quite the best dance floor I’ve seen in a long time. So much love, energy and compassion at this wedding. Mugs’s Gran Sylvia and I had a great chat before she hit the dance floor and out all the young ones to shame. I was super sad to leave but this is a stunning part of England and I’m so happy that we got to go out into it and make images.

Can you hear me calling out your name? You know that I’M FALLING and I don’t know what to say. I’ll speak a little louder, I’ll even shout. You know that I’m proud and I can’t get the words out …

Chafford Park Festival Wedding // Laura + Joseba

Chafford Park Festival Wedding // Laura + Joseba

This has been the year of the Festival Wedding for sure and on the August Bank Holiday I headed to the glorious Chafford Park in rural Sussex for the very lovely Laura and Joseba’s wedding. This is quite a new venue but it is perfect if you want somewhere you can make your own for the weekend, the accommodation is terrific and you can opt for tipis or the barn for your reception. This was such a fun wedding, I knew it would be. The couple met in Ibiza where the groom was DJing

and his family brought with them some of the Basque wedding traditions. When the couple exited the ceremony, Joseba’s friends and family were lined up with scarves for them to walk under, then they had confetti and that was followed by a musician and dancer from Barcelona. As you can see Laura was quite pregnant and along with Joseba’s look for the day, I couldn’t help but think of Kill Bill 2. I loved this wedding and as we left, guests were dancing while the groom played a set and the pizza van was churning out delicious pizzas.

Ten days of perfect tunes, the colours red and blue. We had a PROMISE MADE, we were in love …
