Let’s face it, weddings are expensive. Every single part of them so here’s an idea that one couple used to have the best value drinks reception in all of London. Rose and Rohan are New Zealanders currently living in London and they wanted a super low key but fun wedding. They booked me for just a few hours for their wedding at Marylebone Town Hall, one super rainy October afternoon. I met them at the venue, shot the ceremony and some pictures inside and then confetti on the steps – the usual kind of thing.
They bought some bottles of champagne and disposable flutes and held their drinks reception right there, on the steps of the Registry Office. It was the cutest thing. I love working with laid back couples and this pair must be right up there with the most relaxed I’ve ever shot. I have to say, it was super fun and proves that you don’t have to have a fancy venue to have a wedding. I should point out – They did only have a handful of guests and they did head to a nice restaurant afterwards.
