Hasselblad Heroine – A Bridal LookBook On Hasselblad

HASSELBLAD HEROINE

Images For A Bridal LookBook on Hasselblad X1DII

Becoming A Hasselblad Heroine

Being named a Hasselblad Heroine was a huge career highlight for me as a photographer. It’s an honor to be recognised by such a respected brand in the industry.

It’s not just about the recognition; it’s about getting hands-on with some of the best camera gear out there. One of the first things I did with this honor was to take the Hasselblad X1D II for a spin, using it to shoot a bridal lookbook at a beautiful location property in Brighton.

Using the Hasselblad X1D II

The Hasselblad X1D II is a medium-format beast in a compact body. Its sensor is perfect for capturing the rich details and textures of bridal dresses. The tones it delivers are just stunning, which is super important for getting those bridal whites to look perfect. It excels for bridal photography because wedding dresses have intricate details that deserve to be shown off. This camera felt like an exceptional creative tool and I’m delighted with the results and so was the client.

The Client said…

Incredible!

Lisa, these are just so beautiful, truly incredible – every single frame.

You put together the dream team, thank you thank you.

ON LOCATION

The location property in my home city of Brighton, we chose as it had the right mix of vintage interiors with gorgeous light giving us loads of great settings for our photoshoot.

Using the X1D II made the shoot smooth and enjoyable. It’s user-friendly, adapts quickly to different lighting, and the high-res screen makes checking images and ensuring that I was nailing the framing. It was great not having to worry about fiddling with gear and just being able to focus on the creative side.

REFLECTIONS ON BECOMING A HASSELBLAD HEROINE

Shooting with the Hasselblad X1D II really inspired me – the level of detail it captures made the bridal fabrics look incredible, and it handled the natural light like a champ, keeping everything looking real and beautifully lit.

This bridal lookbook was more than a job; it was a testament to how the right tools can elevate your work. Being named as one of a very small selection of hugely talented women from around the world who are Hasselblad Heroines feels like a very wonderful spotlight. Hasselblad have a commitment to encouraging more female photographers to come into the industry and to celebrate their work with this incredible award. I’m pumped to see what else I can do with it and how it’ll help me to help others. This is just the start of a lot more exciting things to come!
