This was my first time shooting a wedding at Stoke Place and what and elegant venue it is. I was there for Helen and Shami's wedding and started the day with groom prep. I've actually never shot the boys in the morning so another first for me but luckily they were all very warm, friendly and calm. Then I headed to Helen's room for all the giggly, girly excitement of bridal prep with a room full of bridesmaids, friends, family and little flower girls. Helen really looked incredible and I loved the contrast of her pretty gown with the traditional henna on her hands.

The staircase at Stoke Place is gorgeous and Helen looked so effortlessly beautiful descending it. The whole day was a laid back celebration of these two, their families and their cultures. All the guests could have henna tattoos done while a jazz band played, the canap├ęs were Indian while the dinner was English lamb. The cake was made by Shami's mother who's Victoria Sandwich seems to be the stuff of local legend. It did look delicious. Shami is renowned for his dislike of having his photograph taken but we managed to get a couple of 5 minute portrait sessions with him.. just about!

and when you stay you save MY SOUL and you can tell my boy that I love him so
