Brighton Restaurant Wedding – Beyond The Veil Editorial
This Brighton Restaurant Wedding Editorial wasn’t just a photoshoot but a celebration of diversity and an unapologetic push against traditional norms in the wedding industry…
Brighton is a city that thrives on individuality, inclusivity, and bold creativity – qualities that align perfectly with the ethos behind Beyond The Veil’s Tarot Collection and the charm of hosting a wedding in a character-filled restaurant like English’s of Brighton.
This editorial wasn’t about ticking boxes or playing it safe; it was about creating something celebratory, glamorous, and fiercely individual
The wedding industry is still extremely heteronormative. Everything is very ‘bride’ this and ‘groom’ that in most circumstances, and ‘bridal’ shops tend to only stock dresses made to fit ‘feminine’ body shapes
This just isn’t an accurate representation of nearly-weds. There needs to be room for people who are outside of the gender binary.
Why Brighton Restaurant Weddings Are a Fantastic Idea
If you’re dreaming of a wedding that’s intimate, stylish, and packed with character, a Brighton restaurant might just be the perfect choice. Restaurants like English’s offer so much more than just a meal; they create a cosy, elegant atmosphere that feels effortlessly special. Everything you need is already there and the staff are used to making people feel valued.
Hosting your wedding at a restaurant comes with plenty of perks:
All-in-One Convenience: Forget shuttling guests between venues. You can hold your ceremony, reception, and dinner in one beautifully styled location. Or choose one close to where your ceremony is held – English’s is a pleasant 5 minute stroll from Brighton Town Hall.
Top-Tier Food: Restaurants pride themselves on delivering exceptional dining experiences, making your wedding meal one to remember and you won’t run out of drins! Trust me, this can make or break a wedding!
Unique Vibes: Each restaurant has its own personality, from English’s historic charm to modern hotspots like Shelter Hall. If you are yet to find your perfect Brighton Wedding Venue, I have a handy guide to my favourites.
Plus, with Brighton’s vibrant foodie culture, you’re spoiled for choice. Whether you want something quirky, vintage-inspired, or ultra-modern, there’s a venue to match your style.
Behind the Scenes of the Beyond The Veil Editorial
When it came to styling this shoot, Tessa and I agreed we wanted to push boundaries. The collection itself – genderless, inclusive, and versatile – was our starting point. Most pieces are designed to mix and match, allowing wearers to create a look that’s entirely their own. The bold red color palette complemented the black and white tones of the collection and brought an extra sense of drama and celebration to the shoot.
Spencer and Grace, our real-life couple models, were the heart of this editorial. Their energy, playfulness, and connection were a joy to photograph and truly brought the concept to life. The team styled the table with rich textures, candles, and deep red florals, creating a setting that felt opulent yet intimate – perfect for a restaurant wedding.
