The Quintessential East London Wedding // Ellen + Scott

[T]his couple warned me that they were planning to have the Quintessential East London Wedding when we first met. Ellen and Scott live in Hackney and had every part of their wedding day within walking distance of their flat. The ceremony was at Hackney Town Hall and the reception was at The Roost in Dalston and yes of course they had a London bus to ferry guests between the two places. However it turns  out that Ellen is quite the vintage vehicle aficionado and had actually booked the ‘double decker bus of her dreams’.
My favourite images are from the walk between their flat and the town hall, I adored Ellen’s lace two piece and all the bridesmaids mismatched lace dresses. We even managed to squeeze in a first look which is always such a lovely thing to shoot. I had an utter blast with this pair and their guests. Ellen’s ‘Best Gay’ Tom gave one of the funniest speeches I’ve heard at a wedding ever, involving their camping adventures in ‘The Bungalow’ and I loved The Roost. It is a very wonderful venue to shoot in, so many crazy, quirky little areas.

This is the FIRST DAY OF MY LIFE, Swear I was born right in the doorway. I went out in the rain and suddenly everything changed, They’re spreading blankets on the beach…
