What Is The Secret To A Relaxed Engagement Session?
This pair live in London but were planning a wedding in Sussex so one day when they were down visiting it, we met up to take some photos that celebrated this time in their lives.
Historically, engagement photos were quite formal and used to announce a couple’s union in the local paper or to society. So is there still a place for them today?
Very much yes, they can mark this exciting time in your life, when you’ve decided to marry and the planning is in full swing. It’s good to have proper photos that are just about the two of you and although most people find it awkward initially, it’s usually a fun thing to do.

Does having an engagement photo session make it easier for your wedding photography?
First up, let me just say that engagement sessions are waaaaaaaaaayy more awkward than wedding photos. On your wedding day, you are extremely busy and the photography just becomes a part of an entire day of extraordinary actions. When we go for an engagement session, we are not doing anything else so yes, it feels awkward… to begin with.

THE SECRET TO A RELAXED ENGAGEMENT SESSION
Listen, here’s what happens. Eventually, you just have to relax into it. You will get used to it, even start to enjoy it. The key is to stop thinking about it, I will help with some gentle directions, like walk over there or sit here. Very simple and very lovely, get in touch to book in your couple session. It can be to mark your engagement, your anniversary or just because.
