Wedding at Brighton Town Hall for Laid-Back Lovers
Some weddings are for rebels, like Marianne and Karl’s – this wedding day was about breaking away and doing things their own way. Their Brighton Town Hall wedding was full of creative energy, laid-back elegance, and personal touches that reflected their love for music, fashion, and each other.
A Different Kind of Morning: Getting Ready Together
From the start, Marianne and Karl made choices that felt true to them. Rather than the traditional separate preparations, they got ready together in a beautiful Airbnb surrounded by their closest friends.
The intimacy of this choice set the tone for the entire day — a celebration focused on connection, authenticity, and presence. In between the small moments, and final touches, there was a calm that ran through the morning. A gathering of their chosen families and a sense that they were doing this like they do everything else – together.

Taking a Break to Be Present
One of the best parts of the day wasn’t even the ceremony or the reception, but the intentional pause in the middle of it all. Marianne and Karl made time to step away from the crowd to be fully present with each other. They knew that with so many people and emotions involved, it’s easy to let the day blur by. So they took some time out, to breathe and take a step back from excitement that surrounded them.
Karl said…
Thank you so much for all of these!
It’s an amazing thing to look at all these images of us and also of everyone else having fun and getting along so well.
Thank you for your ideas and your attention and your care.
Also thank you for being a great guest!

Laid-Back Reception at Botanique, Hove
For the reception, Marianne and Karl chose Botanique, an intimate vegan restaurant in Hove, known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was an absolute highlight, with course after course of stunning vegan dishes that delighted their guests. It was clear that they wanted the day to reflect who they are — from their favourite things to eat to their favourite people.
A Musical Love Story
It’s only fitting that music played a big role in their wedding since music brought them together. They first met at an emo night where Marianne was DJing, and so it was the perfect full-circle moment when she took to the decks to kick off the evening’s festivities. Their guests, many of them in the music industry themselves, knew how to enjoy a good party, and the night quickly became a celebration of not only their love but their shared passion for music and life.
Why This Wedding Will Inspire Creative Couples
Marianne and Karl’s day is a perfect example for couples who want to create a day that reflects their personalities. From getting ready together to making space for pauses, this wedding was as laid-back and personal as it was stylish and personal.
Their Brighton Town Hall ceremony and Botanique reception were beautiful backdrops, but the real beauty of the day came from how they made it their own. Whether it was taking time to be present or kicking off the party on the decks, Marianne and Karl’s wedding was a celebration of love, creativity, style and being true to yourselves.
