W Hotel London Wedding Editorial Shoot

W Hotel London Wedding Editorial Shoot

The Rock n Roll Bride magazine team was invited to shoot a wedding editorial at the iconic W Hotel in the heart of London. It was incredibly fun to have an entire hotel to shoot in, especially one that is as hedonistic as the W. This place has been designed for partying, one of the suites even has a DJ booth in it.

They are very used to accommodating celebrities so we felt right at home. Our shoot was inspired by the Fugees track Ready or Not and looks from that part of the late 90s.

This would be such a cool place for a wedding, imagine sipping cocktails in the main lounge, living it up whilst looking down on Leicester Square and then heading off to your suite for the afterparty.

“Ready or not here I come, you can’t hide, Gonna find you and take it slowly. Ready or not here I come, you can’t hide, Gonna find you and make YOU WANT ME…”

Wedding At The Natural History Museum

Wedding At The Natural History Museum

It was such a huge honour to be able to shoot this editorial of a wedding at the Natural History Museum in London when it was closed. They invited the team at Rock n Roll Bride Magazine to use it as a location for one of its bridal shoots.

To be able to use these spaces without having visitors in the background was incredible. The light in the museum is so pretty but of course, the most drama is in the main atrium, Hintz Hall with the huge staircase and the giant blue whale skeleton suspended above. Did you know that it is a female and her name is Hope?

Imagine hosting your wedding here, beneath the whale or they have eleven other spaces that are licensed for weddings.

For this shoot, the styling team knew they had to go big to make an impact on the space. So these were some of the most dramatic wedding dresses that I’ve shot to date. Stunning right?

“I drink sweet wine for breakfast, slept for about an hour or so. Smiled a little IN THE SILENCE, deciding on where to go. Meet me under the whale in the Natural History Museum, I think that’s what she said …”

Elton John Inspired Bridal Editorial Shoot

Elton John Inspired Bridal Editorial Shoot

We were thinking, who inspires glamour, party, feel good vibes? Well, you don’t get much more iconic than Elton John and that is who the team at Rock n Roll Bride magazine looked to for styling cues for this wedding editorial shoot. It was a super fun one to shoot and it was wonderful to be given free reign of the venue, the very stylish Mama Shelter hotel in Hoxton.

Catch a star if you can, Wish for SOMETHING SPECIAL. Let it be me, My love is free. Sing a song to yourself, Think of someone listening. One melody, you’re all for me…

It is a ridiculous amount of fun doing these shoots for Kat’s magazine, Rock n Roll Bride. The team are always so adorable to work with and when we come together, it’s a creative force. We all bring something different to the collaboration and it’s exciting to see the end results published in a print magazine, not just ending up online.

Charlie, our model for this one was deliberately chosen for her tattoos and the styling was very clean. So I knew that I wanted to keep the photography sharp and simple. The additional element of the mirrors meant doubling up the impact of everything and it was fun to play around with the reflections.

Cause with your hand in my hand and a POCKET FULL OF SOUL, I can tell you there’s no place we couldn’t go. Just put your hand on the glass, I’m here trying to pull you through …

Rainbow Wedding Editorial | Rock n Roll Bride Magazine

Could we do a Rainbow Coloured Wedding Shoot but make it sophisticated? This was the challenge that we set ourselves for an editorial with Rock n Roll Bride magazine. So we gathered up a load of wigs from Annabelle’s, some very gorgeous coloured dresses, a bunch of giant balloons and headed to the studio.

I pictured a rainbow, you held it in your hands. I HAD FLASHES but you saw the plan. I wandered out in the world for years but you just stayed in your room …

London Bride Shoot for Crown and Glory with Rock n Roll Bride

London Bride Shoot for Crown and Glory with Rock n Roll Bride

How have I not yet blogged this super pretty shoot for the Rock n Roll Bride veil collection at Crown and Glory? We decided to do a shoot with a very London look but the kind of London that you see in Richard Curtis movies.. all pastel coloured houses and blue skies. We wanted our model to convey a laid back urban bride and I think Tinks totally got the vibe.

The veils are all super cute and available here. The very lovely flowers for this shoot were provided by Amie Bone, the make up and hair was done by the brilliant Tabby Castro and most of the bridal wear is from Halfpenny London. If the location looks a little familiar, it was were Ness and Mugs took me for their London Engagement and they tell me there are always film crews there!

Every inch of sky’s got a star. Every inch of skin’s got a scar. I guess that you’ve got EVERYTHING now …
