Rustic, Boho Wedding at Gaynes Park

Rustic, Boho Wedding at Gaynes Park

Want to keep your wedding relaxed? Host it all in one place. Trust me, having to get everyone from one place to the next on the day is usually the most stressful part. So choose a venue where you can do it all in one location, like the glorious Gaynes Park in Essex. This is where Alice and Adam held their very lovely, rustic, boho wedding. With a newborn baby they wanted to make things as easy yet elegant as possible and it certainly was a very wonderful and laid back wedding.

As soon as I wake up every night, EVERY DAY. I know that it’s you I need to take the blues away …

Outdoor Festival Wedding at Duncton Mill Fishery

Outdoor Festival Wedding at Duncton Mill Fishery

You have to love the great British weather, don’t ya? I’m pretty sure that the trend for outdoor and festival style weddings started somewhere a lot milder and more predictable. But us Brits have embraced the trend and as long as you are prepared for anything, then you to can host your wedding outdoors in the UK. Take Sarah and Andy for instance. They booked the glorious Duncton Mill Fishery in Sussex for their wedding. They had wind, rain, sunshine and more rain but they also had the most perfect day. It was sunny just at the right times and we just dived for cover when it wasn’t.

Sunny, thank you for the SUNSHINE BOUQUET. Sunny, thank you for the love you brought my way …

Usk Castle Wedding | Charlotte + Will

Usk Castle Wedding | Charlotte + Will

I travelled not too far into Wales to the beautiful Usk Castle where Charlotte and Will hosted their summer wedding. Charlotte’s family live nearby in the village and she got ready at their home. Will is from slightly further afield, the US and his friends loved spending the day in a real life castle. Their outdoor ceremony was perfectly personal with friends supporting them and the huppah as their celebrant conducted a hand fasting and they read out their own vows.

Charlotte is very much a vintage queen and happened upon her antique wedding dress at a car boot sale of all places. Costing a mere £50, you’d think she would have just snapped it up but true to her own unique style, she bartered them down to just £30. It was even a perfect fit and looked sensational on the wedding day. Now, if I could give an award to the best page boys ever at a wedding, it would have to be to these gorgeous brothers.

Dance with me, I want my ARM ABOUT YOU. The charm about you will carry me through to Heaven …

Chiddingstone Castle Wedding | Jacqueline + Greg

Chiddingstone Castle Wedding | Jacqueline + Greg

It was so lovely to return to Chiddingstone Castle in Kent recently for the wedding of Jacqueline and Greg. It’s such a quirky venue and a perfectly romantic setting for a classic big white wedding. This pair met when Greg was backpacking in Australia and the one condition for Jacki to relocate to the UK so they could be together was that her dog Mia would be coming too.

So of course Mia was big part of the wedding day as Dog of Honour and she seemed to love all the fuss and attention, even the confetti! It was so hot that the Australians were complaining about it so it was quite a relief to go into the castle’s impressive Great Hall for the wedding breakfast and speeches. This pair are a lot of fun and so was their wedding day although I’m sure that Mia slept for most of the next day.

Pardon the way that I stare, there’s nothing else to compare. The sight of you leaves me weak, there are NO WORDS left to speak …

Gildings Barn Wedding | Tom + James

Gildings Barn Wedding | Tom + James

Gildings Barn in Surrey was the venue for James and Tom’s big outdoor wedding a few weekends ago. I first met this pair when Tom was Best Gay at his friend Ellen’s Wedding up in Hackney this time last year. His speech was one of the funniest I think I’ve ever seen so I was looking forward to seeing them all again and to shooting their own wedding.

This was one of those all out country weddings with miles of bunting and flowers in jam jars. The Mums have been sewing and growing like demons and it all came together for this glorious sunshine filled day with a gorgeous outdoor personal ceremony at the heart of it. It was all very relaxed.. well until the ceilidh when everything got very active!

Forever can never be long enough for me, to feel like I’ve had long enough with you. FORGET THE WORLD now we won’t let them see but there’s one thing left to do ..

Standlow Farm Festival Wedding // Ness + Mugs

Standlow Farm Festival Wedding // Ness + Mugs

When Ness and Mugs booked me for their wedding at Standlow Farm in the Peak District, I had to confess that it is a part of the world I don’t know very well. But their wedding sounded very lovely and I do adore having new places to explore. They very much wanted a festival feeling to the wedding and the Farm let them take it over for the entire weekend. This is one well travelled couple and so their wedding brought in all kinds of elements from all over the world, including an interlude with an African Dance Class that got all the guests re-energised after dinner.

Ness and Mugs are incredibly warm people and when I spent time with their families and friends I could see that this was something that ran throughout everything that they do. The wedding was a wonderful gathering of all their favourite people and they had quite the best dance floor I’ve seen in a long time. So much love, energy and compassion at this wedding. Mugs’s Gran Sylvia and I had a great chat before she hit the dance floor and out all the young ones to shame. I was super sad to leave but this is a stunning part of England and I’m so happy that we got to go out into it and make images.

Can you hear me calling out your name? You know that I’M FALLING and I don’t know what to say. I’ll speak a little louder, I’ll even shout. You know that I’m proud and I can’t get the words out …
